What I Believe In

The fundamental principles that Audeh Quawas abides by and advocates are characterized by transparency, accountability, efficiency, equity, responsiveness, equity and inclusiveness, and the rule of law and democracy.

Good governance is not only responsive to the needs of the present and the future of the society, but it is also the most important factor in promoting development and in eradicating poverty and unemployment.

Democracy must be based on the specific circumstances of each society, and must maintain the shared values of equality which foreground the dignity and rights of all human beings. It requires a good performance in the judicial system based on the principles of the rule of law.

Good governance is the basics of democracy, of free elections which are supervised by the judiciary and by the work of political parties, and of free media and active non-governmental organizations which can operate independently. The resolution of conflicts and disputes between members of any given society must be peaceful. In fact, a society must develop a set of mechanisms to deal with disputes that may arise between the various parties involved. The features of a culture of democracy must include gender equality, as well as respect and tolerance for all individuals and groups. The distribution of community resources, the reduction of the abuse of power and corruption, and the equality of all persons before the law are prerequisites for the proper functioning of any society. Above all, proper education and access to information and knowledge are prerequisites for all that.
